Mrs. Helen P. Musa, 85 of Utica passed away on Wednesday July 28, 2010 at The Masonic Care Community with her loving family by her side. Helen was born in Utica on January 28, 1925 the daughter of Lester and Loretta Parshall. She was raised locally and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On May 20, 1944 Helen married Anthony E. Musa, a loving union of 41 years until Anthony's death in 1985. For 35 years Helen was employed with General Electric Company until her retirement. She was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, AARP and was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church, N. Utica. Helen will be fondly remembered as a very generous and giving person who selflessly gave of herself to her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will forever live in the hearts of her beloved family. Mrs. Musa is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Louis Musa and his partner James Ozark of Syracuse and Anthony and Angela Musa of Barneveld; four cherished grandchildren, Kimberly Specht and her husband Ben of Newark, OH, A.J. Musa and his wife Tiffany of Annapolis, MD, Marisa Beechler and her husband Josh of East Aurora, NY and Erika Young of Leesburg, VA; three adored great grandchildren, Alexa and Kathleen Specht and Mia Beechler; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Tony Tubia of Herkimer and FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Art and Fran Parshall of Holland Patent; daughter-in-law, Jean Matuszewski and her husband Rich and their daughters Jeanine and Tiffany of New Hartford; nieces and nephews, Mark and Patty Parshall, Karen and Steve Ambrozik, Ted and Christine Zaik, Linda Zaik, Tony and Ruth Babowicz, James and Mary Liz Musa, Don and Kathy Musa and Laura Musa and dear friends, Tom and Barb Jones and Doris Van Hatten. She was predeceased by a son, Frank Musa in 1992 and grandson, Todd Musa in 2003. Mrs. Musa's funeral will be held on Monday August 2, 2010 at 8:45 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 9:30 at St. Peter's Church where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Utica.
