Ann K. Hulbert, 96, of the Sitrin Health Care Center passed away on Thursday, July15, 2010. Ann was born in Utica on February 27, 1914 a daughter of James and Rose (Gaffney) Callahan. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. In Pennsylvania on September 3, 1943 Ann was united in marriage to Frederick R. Hulbert, Jr. a blessed union of 49 years until his passing away on September 10, 1992. For many years she was employed with the New York Telephone Co. then later with Mohawk Valley Community College. Ann was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica. Ann will always be remembered as a loving grandmother. Her grandchildren will forever cherish the memories and times spent with her. Ann is survived by a daughter, Alice Mootz, Yorkville, two sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick Randolph and Susan Hulbert, Frewsburg, NY and Joseph D. and Darleen Hulbert, Remsen, NY, a brother, Edward Callahan, New Hartford, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Callahan, OH. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her eldest son James F. Hulbert in 1980, and sisters and brother, Esther Donohue, Rosemary Cormie, and James Callahan. A memorial mass for Mrs. Hulbert will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 10:00 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Those so wishing may make donations to a charity of their choice in Ann's memory. Arrangements are by the Heintz Funeral Service Inc.
