Christine L. Zyla, 53 of Utica passed away Sunday May 16, 2010 at her home after a long illness. Christine was born in Utica on March 20, 1957 the daughter of Patricia (Conklin) Coffin and the late Malcolm Coffin. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. She later attended Utica School of Nursing and MVCC. On June 21, 1975, Christine married Alan Zyla. She was of the catholic faith. Mrs. Zyla is survived by her husband, Alan; one daughter, Alaina Twitchell of Utica; one son, Alan Zyla, Jr. of Rome and his fiancée Nicole Wadsworth; three cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Xander Zyla and Frank Twitchell; her mother, Patricia Coffin and mother-in-law, Frances Zyla of Clinton. Mrs. Zyla's funeral will be held on Wednesday evening May 19, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for family and friends are Wednesday from 6:00-7:00 prior to the service.
