Sheila L. Palmer, 61, of Rome, formerly of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Rome Hospital. Sheila was born in Utica on May 30, 1948, the daughter of Stanley and Florence (Hartlieb) Tullar. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Utica schools. On August 29, 1970, Sheila married Rocco Palmer in Utica. She was of the Protestant faith. Sheila loved the time she spent with her family, and especially enjoyed watching her sons play softball. Sheila is survived by her beloved husband, Rocco Palmer, Rome; by two daughters and a son-in-law, Trisha Hall, Yorkville, Michele and Alan Dee, Clinton; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Amy Palmer, Utica, Matthew Palmer and Nicole Poma, Clinton, Marc Palmer and Amelia Jones, Utica; a stepson and his wife, Rocco and Cheri Palmer, Hawaii; her cherished grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Jamie, and her children, Cameron, Jaylianna, and Jayden; Joseph, Joshua, Jessica, Alan, Jr., Samantha, Jordan, Ashton, Jayden, and Marc. She is also survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon and Andrew Keiser, Utica, Sharmon Tullar, Utica. Mrs. Palmer's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Yorkville, at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home, Wednesday evening, from 4 - 7 pm prior to the service. Donations may be entrusted to Rocco Palmer or to the Children's Miracle Network in Sheila's memory.
