Anthony C. (Tony) Biamonte, 76, of Marcy passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in the comfort of his own home with his loving family by his side. Tony was born in Utica on May 1, 1933 the son of the late Carl Biamonte and Edith Biamonte Venettozzi. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1955. On October 1, 1955 Tony was united in marriage to Mary Lou Young, a blessed union of 54 years until her passing on January 12, 2009. For many years he was employed with Enjem's Floor Coverings and then opened his own business, Modern Floor Service. Tony also built, owned and operated the Sunrise Terrace Apartments in Marcy and was co-owner of the Cedar Ridge Apartments in New York Mills. For 23 years he was loved by all his renters for going above and beyond his duty as a landlord. Tony was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church, North Utica, the Carpenter's Union and was an avid bowler for 35 years. Tony's fondest memories were the family trips to Wisconsin and Florida. His children will forever cherish these special times. Tony is survived by three beloved children, Gina and Paul Asfur of Utica, Michael Biamonte and Mona Buell of Marcy and Mark and Melissa Biamonte of Marcy, his seven cherished grandchildren, Heather Biamonte, Lauren Biamonte, Kaylena Biamonte, Tori Biamonte, Dylan Asfur, Nikki Asfur and Halle Biamonte, his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Betty Biamonte of Marcy and Carl and Joanne Biamonte of FL, special friends, Kenny and Henrietta (Hank) Stiefvater and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Biamonte's funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica and at 10:00 from St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to Hospice and Palliative Care Inc. in Tony's memory. The family would like to extend a special thank you to a special friend, John Wakeel, for all the loving care he gave to Tony during his final weeks and to the staff of Hospice Care for their care and concern. "Dad, you were always there to lend a hand. Our Mentor, Our Father, Our Friend. Life will not be the same without you. You can now join Mom for happy hour once again."
