Julianna (Julie) C. Babowicz Booth, passed away on May 7, 2018 at her home in Deerfield. She was born in Utica, September 26, 1939, the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Wentka) Babowicz. She attended Holy Trinity Elementary School and Utica Free Academy. On June 1, 1963, Julie was united in marriage to William W. Booth at Holy Trinity Church, Utica. Julie was a private and executive secretary for many public and private organizations and firms throughout her career. She worked for Bendix Corp., local architects, engineers and construction companies and was a Field Engineering Inspector during the construction of the Marcy Upper Division College (SUNY Poly). Mrs. Booth was president of the Women in Construction organization. She was a Notary Public, served as a Committee member of a local Boy Scout Troop and for many years was a Boilermaker Wheelchair Committee member and volunteer. As an AARP member, she served as a 55-Alive instructor for several years. Julie was employed at the West Side Senior Center as the Executive Director and Board member and served that organization from 1992 to 2012. She was a member of Historic St. John’s Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post of New Hartford Post 1376. Mrs. Booth is survived by her husband, William and a son, Robert J. Booth, both of Deerfield, a sister, Virginia Doyle, of Deerfield, a niece Jeanie and Peter Chambrone, of Holland Patent and nephews, James Doyle, of Cicero, James, Edmund and Michael Booth, all of Kansas City, MO. A funeral mass for Mrs. Booth will be held at Historic St. John’s Church on Friday, May, 11, 2018 at 10:00. There are no calling hours. The family will greet guests at the conclusion of the mass. Donations may be made in her behalf to Historic St. John’s Church.
