John H. (Jack) Stockbridge, 66, of Kirkland, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 in Sacramento, CA. Jack was born on October 30, 1943, the son of Carl and Jean (Shanley) Stockbridge. He was raised and educated locally, attending Clinton schools. Jack then married Christine (Reagner) Stockbridge. Christine passed away in 2006. Jack married Peg Stockbridge. He was employed with the Oneida County Highway Dept. Jack had several hobbies, including his appreciation for classic cars, and enjoyment with woodworking. He was of the Catholic faith. Jack is survived by his wife, Peg Stockbridge, Sacramento, CA; three children and their spouses, Tammy and Matt Elliot, Clark Mills, Kelly Stockbridge, Clark Mills, John and Sandy Stockbridge, Utica; three sisters, Margaret and John Anna, Batavia, Sandy Castle and her partner, Dawn Decieco, Clinton, Robin and Greg Boivin, Deansboro; a brother, Edward and Debbie Stockbridge, Rome. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his first wife, Christine, Jack is predeceased by a brother, Thomas Stockbridge. Mr. Stockbridge's funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. A spring interment in Kirkland Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5 - 7 pm, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to the American Lung Association in Jack's memory.
