Doris J. Renwick, 78, of Whitesboro, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center. Doris was born in Utica on August 1, 1931, the daughter of Edward and Lillian (Dedrick) Schaub. She was raised and educated locally and a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School. On June 6, 1953, Doris married Francis H. Renwick in St. Agnes Church, Utica and shared a union of 56 years. She was employed with Utica National Insurance Co. for 35 years, retiring in the early 80's. Doris belonged to the AARP Chapter 2012, she was a member of the Whitesboro Seniors, and of the Utica Mutual "25 year" club. Doris and Fran enjoyed spending summers at their camp on Otter Lake; a place where she had shared many family gatherings and celebrations. Doris is survived by her husband, Francis Renwick, Whitesboro; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Tom Eck, Utica; a sister-in-law, Gladys Renwick, New Hartford; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, including special nieces, Mary (and Gene) Loparco, Frankfort, Laura Eck (and Karen Kane), Marcy, Brenda (and Chris) D'Avolio, Remsen; special nephews, Edward (and Christine) Eck, Frankfort, Dick Barrett, MA; special great nieces and nephews, Tiffany Early, Thomas Eck, Tricha Eck, Kendall Perrone, Alex D'Avolio, and Kristen D'Avolio. Doris is predeceased by an infant daughter, Linda Renwick, in 1960, and by her brother, Edward Schaub. Mrs. Renwick's funeral will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 at 9:45 am from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, and 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3 - 6 pm. As Doris was charitable with several organizations, those wishing may donate to a charity of your choice in her memory.
