Mr. Eric Michael Owens, 38 of Utica passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January 16, 2010. Eric was born in New Hartford on April 28, 1971 the son of William and Diana (Sherman) Owens. He was raised in New Hartford, was a graduate of New Hartford High School and attended MVCC. Eric was a parishioner of St. Joseph St. Patrick Church in Utica. Eric's family is grateful to Fr. Richard Dellos and Patti Ferrone for the loving compassion and friendship you shared with Eric. His family is deeply saddened by the loss of their beloved son and brother, but receives great comfort in knowing that Eric is home in Heaven with his eternal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Eric is survived by his parents, Diana Owens and William Owens; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Gretchen and James Wallace and D.J. Owens; four brothers, Gregory Owens, Matthew Owens, Adam Owens and William Owens; nieces and nephews, Arianna Owens, Andre Owens, Ellie Wallace, Julian Wallace and Gregory Owens, Jr.; a special cousin, Todd Greer and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Eric's funeral will be held on Wednesday January 20, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Joseph St. Patrick Church in Utica where his mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for family and friends are Wednesday evening 4:00-5:00 p.m. at St. Joseph St. Patrick Church prior to the funeral mass.
