William W. Riemenschneider, 76 of Whitesboro passed away on Thursday December 24, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. William was born in Manhattan, NY on April 16, 1933 the son of Walter Friedrich and Emma Katherine (Goehnk) Riemenschneider. He was raised and educated in New York where he earned a bachelors degree in engineering. He honorable served in the US Army from 1954-1956. On July 27, 1974 William married Joan Fuller Gottlieb in Utica a union of 17 years until Joan's death in 1991. On November 23, 1996 he married Joan Malakie Cox at St. Paul's Church in Whitesboro. For many years, William was employed as an engineer with General Electric Company, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Moose club in Marcy where he ran bingo for many years and was a member of the Hospice walking group. He enjoyed playing bingo with his wife, Joan, traveling, listening to Irish and German Music and teaching and participating in line dancing. He was of the Lutheran Faith. Mr. Riemenschneider is survived by his wife Joan; one son, Thomas Riemenschneider of NV; two step-daughters, Judith M. Way and her husband Michael of Whitesboro and Julianne Gorczynski and her husband Stephen of Manlius; two step-sons, James Cox of Liverpool and John Cox, Jr. and his wife Ann Marie of Stephentown, NY; two grandchildren, Dan Gorczynski and Megan Gorczynski both of Manlius; a sister-in-law, Grace Riemenschneider of Long Island; a niece, Karen Riemenschneider and a nephew Jeffrey Riemenschneider both of Long Island and several cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Riemenschneider. Mr. Riemenschneider's funeral will be held on Monday December 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville.
