Jeffrey "JJ" David O'Brien, 43, of Clinton and Old Forge, passed away at his home, on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, after a short illness. Jeffrey was born on November 23, 1966, the youngest son of James P. and the late Gloria (Hameline) O'Brien. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, and a graduate of SUNY Canton and Niagara University. Jeffrey worked in the hospitality industry in the Mohawk Valley and Old Forge area for many years and part time with Rome Plumbing and Heating Supply Co., Inc. He had countless friends and co-workers that loved him like family. Jeffrey had a charmingly, sarcastic wit and was the consummate host to his friends and family. Jeffrey will be greatly missed by all whom he touched in life. Jeffrey is survived by his father, James P. and his stepmother Lois (Stanford) O'Brien, as well as his six older brothers, James P. III and his wife, Daryl , Michael and his wife, Carolyn, Kevin, William "Billy" and his wife, Holly, Terry, and Timmy and his wife, Dawn, his unconditional close friend, Dorothy "Dottie" Gotte, an uncle and aunt, William and Ann Hameline. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jeffrey was predeceased by his mother, Gloria, his grandmother, Elizabeth Kennedy O'Brien with whom he had a close relationship and other family members. Jeffrey's funeral will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 9:15 am from the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton and 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church, Clinton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, from 4 - 7 pm.
