Obituary of David G. Gadbois

David G. Gadbois, 55, of Clinton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 26, 2009 in Rome Hospital. David was born in Utica on August 17, 1954, the son of Joseph, Jr. and Alicerose (Morgan) Gadbois. He was raised in Clinton, graduating from Clinton High School, and later from SUNY Morrisville. David had been employed with Abeloves Tartan Textiles for 25 years. He was recently employed with Sovena Olive Oil Co. (formerly East Coast Olive Oil Co.). On December 19, 1981, David married Eleshea M. Hamm in New Hartford. An outdoorsman, David enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom picking and taking nature walks with his family. When at home, he enjoyed cooking and spending time on his computer. He was of the Catholic faith. Dave will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his contagious smile. David is survived by his wife, Eleshea Gadbois, Clinton, his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Justin DiNardo, Utica; three sons, Andrew Gadbois, Lake George, Patrick Gadbois, Clinton, Nathan Gadbois and his fiancée, Courtney Ruhne, Clinton; two grandchildren, Lydia DiNardo and Garrett Hanson; his sister, Rosemary Barnes; three brothers, Joseph Gadbois III, Brian Gadbois, Jonathan Gadbois, and his wife, Maureen; a special aunt, Elizabeth Cheseboro. Also surviving is David's mother-in-law, Juanita Hamm; sister-in-law, Jeanna Romonda and her husband, Earl; brothers-in-law, Jadon Hamm and Earl Hamm, Jr. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, Dave is predeceased by a brother, Terry Gadbois and two sisters-in-law, Claire Doughty Gadbois, and Cindy Gadbois. Mr. Gadbois' funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton, will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 4 - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to the American Heart Association in David's memory.
