Patricia Ann Burns, 61 of Whitesboro passed away Sunday October 11, 2009 at the Hospice Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford. Patricia was born in Utica on September 4, 1948 the daughter of Robert and Helen (Roberts) Burns. She was raised locally and was a graduate of New Hartford High School. At one time she was employed with General Electric Company and later as a home health aide with Independence Care of Rome. Patricia was a parishioner of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Whitesboro. She was active as a "team mother" with the Holland Patent field hockey team and a Girl Scout troop leader in Sauquoit and Holland Patent. Ms. Burns is survived by her long time companion, Thomas Avery of Whitesboro; 5 daughters and three sons-in-law, Tracey and Bruce Harris of Whitesboro, Denise Coffin and Dan Cieniewicz of Holland Patent, Lisa and Harry Bullard of Sauquoit, Becky Burns and her Fiancée Rich Stacy of Deansboro and her youngest daughter who shared a special bond with her mother, Lyndsay Avery of Whitesboro; one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Beth Burns of Rome; one sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Bob Babicz of Yorkville; 9 grandchildren, Sara Harris, Tabitha, Danny and Samantha Cieniewicz, Jacob Bullard and Taurie Bullard, Cheyenne and Allyssa Burns, Madysin Stacy and her canine companion Louie. Ms. Burns' funeral will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 8:45 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and 9:30 at St. Paul's Church where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Whitesboro.
