Obituary of Michael D. Kilpeck

Mr. Michael D. Kilpeck, 55 of Whitesboro passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday September 22, 2009 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Michael was born in Utica on September 28, 2009 the son of Eugene L. and Theresa J. (Oehler) Kilpeck. He was raised locally and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. Michael honorably served in the US Army. On July 1, 1978, Michael married Mary M. Seymour at St. Peter's Church in N. Utica. For many years he was employed as a toll collector with the NY State Thruway Authority. He was an active member of Knights of Columbus Utica council 189, it's forth degree assembly and was a past member of its color corps and past navigator of its 4th degree assembly. He was also a member of St. Mary's Church, NY Mills and the Knights of Columbus golf league. Michael volunteered his time as a coach with the Knights of Columbus basketball league, and was former defensive coach and current statistician with the Mohawk Valley Vikings semi-pro football team. Mr. Kilpeck is survived by beloved wife Mary; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Kristopher and Joey Kilpeck of Clark Mills, Bryan Kilpeck of Utica and Daniel Kilpeck of Whitesboro; a cherished granddaughter, Keirra Kilpeck and his mother-in-law, Elinor Seymour of Whitesboro. Also surviving are two sisters, three brothers and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Kilpeck's funeral will be held on Friday September 25, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 10:00 at St. Peter's Church, N. Utica where his mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be held in St. John's in The Wilderness Cemetery in Lake Clear Junction NY on Saturday September 26th at 12:00 noon.
