Robert L. Zoeckler, 63, of Ilion, formerly of Utica, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Little Falls Hospital. Robert was born in Utica on May 9, 1946, the son of Robert R. and Evelyn (Miller) Zoeckler. He was raised and educated in Utica. On March 16, 1970, Robert married Dawn Marie Broedel. Mrs. Zoeckler passed away in 1998. Robert was employed as store manager for Great American Supermarket in Ilion. He was of the Catholic faith. Robert is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Peter Massocco, Herkimer, Tricia and Gene Rogers, Ilion; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Scott and Sonia Zoeckler, Little Falls, Patrick and Dana Zoeckler, Georgia, Kevin Zoeckler, Ilion; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Evelyn Costello, Chittenango, Cynthia and Joe Bochenek, Westmoreland, Jeanette and Kevin Hiscock, Rome. Robert is also survived by nine grandchildren. Mr. Zoeckler's funeral will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 7 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, N. Utica. Interment, in Calvary Cemetery, will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 4 - 7 pm, prior to the service.
