Dorothy L. Seubert, 92, who was residing with her sister, Sister Edward Marie Seubert, at the Jolenta Convent in Syracuse, and formerly of Utica, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2009. Dorothy was born in Utica, November 18, 1916, the daughter of Edward J. and Dorothy M. (Achen) Seubert. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Utica Free Academy. Dorothy was a dental assistant working for Dr. Gill and Dr. Howe for over thirty years. She loved to read and enjoyed playing Scrabble. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph & St. Patrick's Church in Utica. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Sr. Edward Marie Seubert, Syracuse; a brother-in-law, William Williams, Yorkville; two Goddaughters, Kathleen Kennelty, New Hartford, Anne Fox, Rochester; her nieces and nephews, Russell T. Williams, Carol Williams, Susan Maline, Paul Fox, Monica Haley, and Judith Daviau; and also many great nieces, and great nephews. She is also survived by a dear friend, Nan Williams, Whitesboro. Dorothy is predeceased by three sisters and a brother, Sr. M. Constance Seubert, Mrs. Mildred Fox Merrill, Mrs. Gertrude S. Williams, and Mr. Richard F. Seubert. Dorothy's funeral will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph & St. Patrick's Church in Utica where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Yorkville. Relatives and friends may call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica on Sunday afternoon from 2 - 5 pm.
