Mary P. Moore, 89, of Utica, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Harding Nursing Home in Waterville. Mary was born in Oriskany, NY on April 30, 1920, the daughter of Richard and Alice (Redmond) Parkhurst. She was raised and educated in Oriskany. On April 17, 1937, Mary married Elmer C. Moore. Mr. Moore passed away in 1983. Mary was a former member of Sacred Heart Church in Utica and was recently welcomed as a member to St. Bernard's Church in Waterville. She was also a charter member of the R. Kirk Parkhurst American Legion Post 1448 Auxiliary. Mary is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Ronald Lockwood, Milford, NH, Christine and Raymond Badger, Ballston Lake, NY; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lynne Moore, Waterville, NY; a sister, Annee Hartman, Whitesboro; a daughter-in-law, Diane Moore, Virginia Beach, VA; a sister-in-law, Marion Moore, Utica. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She also leaves a very good friend of several years. Besides her husband, Mary is predeceased by a son, Charles M. Moore, and by her brother, R. Kirk Parkhurst. Mrs. Moore's funeral will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:30 am at St. Bernard's Church in Waterville where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica on Wednesday evening from 4 - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elizabeth True, c/o VFW Post 4368, PO Box 71, Milford, NH 03055 in Mary's memory.
