Mr. Edward F. Dulan, 78 of Clearwater, FL, formerly of Westmoreland, passed away on Saturday February 14, 2009 at his home after a short illness with his loving companion Virginia by his side. Edward was born in Utica on February 20, 1930 the son of Francis and Margaret Dulan. He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War. On June 4, 1955 Edward married Margaret Berry. The couple moved to Westmoreland and raised their children there. Margaret passed away on June 21, 1970. On March 10, 1973 he married Elaine Sauter. At one time Edward was employed with the Hotel Utica but spent most of his career repairing office equipment in the Utica area. Near the end of his career he owned and operated Lis Office Equipment in Utica. Edward was of the Methodist faith. Dad was very proud of his Irish heritage. Later in life one of his favorite things to do was to ride his motorcycle. Some of his children's fondest memories are the family vacations to Seaside Heights, NJ and the hikes up the mountain to Nine Corner Lake. Edward is survived by two daughters; Tynnetta Eckler and companion Tony Riccio, Schnectady, NY and Lori Constantine and husband Merill, Utica, four sons; Dennis Dulan and wife Karen, Cassville, Mike Dulan and wife Tammy, Westmoreland, David Dulan and wife Chrissy, North Western, NY, Mark Dulan and wife Lisa, Westmoreland, 13 grandchildren; Richard, Rachel and Christian Eckler, Christina Bullen, Heather Jones, Sarah and Cody Dulan, Lyndsey, Ashley and Samantha Wendell, Elizabeth Lewis, Amanda Lyness and Edward Constantine, his loving companion; Virginia Smaka, FL, a sister; Patricia Klar, New Hartford, his closest friend; Henrietta Purdy, FL and 4 great grandchildren. Edward was predeceased by a sister; Virginia Hulser and a brother; John Dulan. Mr. Dulan's funeral will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 4:00 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. A spring burial will take place in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Clinton, NY. Calling hours at the funeral are Saturday afternoon from 2-4. Those so wishing may make donations to the Sun Coast Hospice of Pinellis County, FL.
