Kevin P. Eichler, 58, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, formerly of Utica and New York City, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009, in Delaware due to a long illness. Kevin was born in Utica on March 23, 1950, the son of John (Jack) C. and Mary Anne (Lynch) Eichler. He was raised and educated locally, going on to graduate from Utica College and later earning his Masters Degree from Syracuse University. Kevin then taught English at Frankfort High School until the age of 27, at which time he left Utica for New York City. There he went to work for Advertising Information Services, working his way up to vice president. He also worked at the Music Box Theater in New York City. After his retirement in 2008, Kevin relocated to Rehoboth, Delaware. He was an avid reader and movie buff, but above all, he was fun and loved life. His spirit will never die. Kevin was of the Roman Catholic faith. Kevin is survived by his mother, Mary Anne Eichler, Florida; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Anne Van Schaick Florida, Kathleen (Kate) and John Nicoletta, Utica, Susan Eichler, Florida; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Gregory and Christine Eichler, Utica, Thomas and Karen Eichler, Yorkville, John (Jack) and Linda Eichler, Connecticut, James Eichler and his fiancée, Nancy Herrmann, Syracuse; his best friend, Michael McFaul, Delaware, and dear friends, Tom, Bill, Chick, and Ricky, all of Rehoboth Beach, DE. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Kevin is predeceased by his father, Jack, by his brother, Robert, and by a brother-in-law, Stephen Van Schaick. Memorial visitation for Kevin will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 10 - 11 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Utica.
