Obituary of Theresa Mozzetti

Mrs. Theresa Mozzetti, 97 of New Hartford passed away on Tuesday January 13, 2009. Theresa was born in Utica on March 7, 1911 the daughter of the late Dominick & Maria Cecelia Peters. She was raised in Utica and attended Utica Public Schools. In 1936 Theresa was united in marriage to John Mozzetti at Mount Carmel Church in Utica, a loving and dedicated union of 51 years until John's death on June 9, 1987. The couple moved to New Hartford in 1950 and became members of St. John the Evangelist Church. Theresa was also a member of the New Hartford Senior Center. Theresa was the nucleus of her family. Foremost in her life were the values of motherhood which earned her the admiration, love and respect of her children and the generations that followed. "Many women have done excellently, but you have surpassed them all." Mrs. Mozzetti is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Beverly Mozzetti of Alamosa, CO and Nicholas Mozzetti of New Hartford; six grandchildren, Jacqueline Mozzetti Thomas and her husband Bill of Boston, MA, A. Nicole Mozzetti of Phoenix, AZ, Natalie Mozzetti DeAngelis and her husband Corey of Alamosa, CO, Nicholas R. Mozetti, Pharm D of New Hartford, Christopher Mozzetti of New Hartford and Renee Mozzetti of New Hartford; 2 great grandchildren, Jensen and Mitchell DeAngelis both of Alamosa, CO; one sister, Yolanda Yetty of Providence, RI; a sister-in-law, Helen Mozzetti Jonquil of Utica and a brother-in-law, Dominick Mozzetti of Utica. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Regetta Peters, Pauline Peters, Jenny Schiavi and Josephine Vona and three brothers, Fred Peters, Frank Peters and Nicholas Peters, MD. Mrs. Mozzetti's funeral will be held on Saturday January 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church, New Hartford where her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Mrs. Mozzetti's family extends a special thank you to Dr. John and Beatrice Romano for the wonderful friendship you shared with our mom.
