Edward F. Constantine, 70, of Yorkville passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 in St. Luke's Hospital. Edward was born in Utica on July 14, 1938 a son of the late Neno and Mary (DelGuidice) Costantini. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1955-1958. At Sacred Heart Church, Utica on April 10, 1964 Edward married Nancy Perry. For 27 years until his retirement in 1993 he was employed with St. Luke's Hospital. Edward was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa, New York Mills, Elks Lodge #33, Utica, and a former member of the Rainbow Sportsmen's Club. Edward was also an avid golfer and Yankee and Giants fan. Edward is survived by his wife, Nancy, a daughter; Judy Constantine, Utica, a son and daughter-in-law; Merill and Lori Constantine, Utica, two grandchildren; Amanda Lyness, Utica and Edward Constantine, Utica, a great granddaughter; Alexa Lyness, a sister and brother-in-law; Marie and Jack Webb, New York Mills; four brothers and sister-in-law; Anthony and Shirley Constantine, Whitesboro, Neno Constantine, Utica, Michael Constantine, Utica and Merill Constantine, Utica, a sister-in-law; Lorna Perry, Utica and all his "Coffee Buddies" at Roger's Coffee Shop. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by 3 brothers; Vincent, Richard and Ronald Constantine, a sister; Jean Mattia sisters-in-law; Mary, Mary Ann and Grace Constantine, brothers-in-law; Gerald Mattia and Raymond Perry, mother-in-law and father-in-law; Mary and Oliver Perry, a niece; Nadine Perry and a nephew; Vincent Constantine. Mr. Constantine's funeral will be held on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 10:00 from Sacred Heart and St. Mary's Church, New York Mills. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 4-7. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare for all the compassionate care and kindness they gave to Edward and them.
