Dorothy J. Kehrli, 75, passed away peacefully at her home, after a long illness, on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Dorothy was born September 1, 1933, in Massena, NY, daughter of Allie and Grace Clookey. She was raised and educated in the Massena School District. At St. Patrick's Church, Massena, on December 26, 1951, Dorothy was married to William W. Kehrli. Dorothy was a housewife, staying home and caring for her husband and children. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, N. Utica. She was an avid bowler at local alleys and also enjoyed her bingo games. Bill was a devoted husband to Dorothy, which was shown by his love and care for her at their home throughout her illness. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa Gigliotti and her husband, Mike, of Whitesboro, NY, Lynn Skinner and her husband, Mark, of Winter Garden, FL, and Valerie Musenga, of Clay, NY, and three sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Beverly Kehrli, of Bernhards Bay, NY, David Kehrli, of Lima, NY, and Steven Kehrli, of Utica, NY. She also leaves 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria Cobane and her husband, Harold, and Shirley MacNeill, all of SC, Evelyn Clookey, of Massena, NY; and a sister-in-law, Armedia Clookey. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents; two sons, Billy Kehrli, in 1987, and Johnny Kehrli, in 2000; one sister, Audrey; and three brothers, Herman, Floyd and Lawrence Clookey. Mrs. Kehrli's funeral will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 10:30 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, and at 11:00 am at St. Peter's Church, N. Utica, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Her burial will take place in the spring at St. Peter's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held from 9:00-10:30 am, prior to her funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's memory would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association.
