Mrs. Roxanne East age 43 passed away on Friday November 14, 2008 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing. Roxanne was born on February 5, 1965 the daughter of Norma Leonard and the late Horatio Kent and received her education in the Utica School system. She was employed with Slocum Dickson Medical group for a number of years. Roxanne enjoyed decorating her home, gardening, shopping and going to the casino with her mother and daughter. She was a big Buffalo Bill's fan and enjoyed watching football on Sunday with her husband. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband and soul mate, Mahon East, Jr. of Utica; her two children who meant the world to her, Tanisha and Mahon East III both of Utica; her grandson who was the apple of her eye, little Mahon East IV and his mom Christina Lewis who is a big part of the family; She is also survived by her mother, Norma Leonard of Utica; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mahon Sr., and Gwendolyn East of N. Utica; one sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Ali Al-Jayashi of Ohio; six brothers and one sister-in-law, Frank and Regina Leonard of Utica, Leland Leonard of Eugene, OR, John Kent of Utica, Morris Kent of Little Falls, Dean Kent and Monte Kent of Ilion; four sisters-in-law and their spouses, Pamela and Dr. Ray Allen of Absecon, NJ, Beverly and Gerald McGraw of Philadelphia, PA, Marion and Tommie Barnes of Clinton, MD and Sauntie and Alrick Fuller of Niceville, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Roxanne's funeral will be held on Wednesday November 19, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for family and friends are Wednesday 4:00-8:00 prior to the service. The family of Roxanne would like to send their heartfelt thanks to her doctors and friends, Dr. Aamer Mirza and Dr. Thomas John for all their loving care. Also to the wonderful nurses and staff on AC-2 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, and to the staff of the surgical intensive care unit at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
