Kathleen C. Wilkinson, 87, a resident of the Presbyterian Home for CNY, formerly of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2008 at the home. Kathleen was born in Newark, NJ, on May 26, 1921, the daughter of William and Catherine (Gough) Sharpe. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Utica Free Academy. Kathleen was employed by Woolworths in Utica, waitressing and working at the lunch counter. On September 26, 1953, Kathleen married John L. Wilkinson in Clinton. Shortly after, she retired from Woolworths to raise her family. The couple shared a union of over 52 years, until John's passing in 2006. Kathleen was a member of St. Mary's Church in Clinton. Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Ann Wilkinson, Clinton; her sister, Marie Keller, New Hartford; two sisters-in-law, Winifred Middaugh, E. Hampton, NY; Joyce W. Bliss, Barneveld, NY. Besides her husband, she is predeceased by a sister, Mildred Longo and three brothers, Roy, William, and her twin brother, Edward Sharpe. Mrs. Wilkinson's funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, Clinton, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton on Monday from 4 - 6 pm. Those wishing may donate to the St. Mary's Memorial Fund in Kathleen's memory. Kathleen's family offer their thanks and heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Presbyterian Home for CNY, especially the Cedar Wing, for the care and kindness shown to both Kathleen and her family during her stay.
