Donald "Kool-laid" G. Sutton, 47, of Utica, husband of Jeanne Sutton and father of three children, Todd, Chad and Lacey, passed away after a brief illness, on Friday, September 26, 2008 at his home with his loving wife and family by his side. Donald was born January 21, 1961 in Catskill, NY, the son of Ruby Massucci and Jesse Sutton. He was raised and educated in Utica. Don went on to become a Jack-of-all-trades, including painting, carpentry, and roofing. He was a NY Jets fan and he loved music, but most of all he loved the people in his life, as well as his dogs. Donald was a member of Historic Old St. John's Church in Utica. Don is survived by his wife, Jeanne Sutton, Utica; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Michele O'Dell, Chadwicks, a son, Chad Lewis and his girlfriend, Cassandra Keyser, Utica; a daughter and son-in-law, Lacey and Jason Kowiatek, Clayville; three grandchildren, Tyler, Cheyenne, and Ashlee; his siblings, Gary Sutton, Utica, Reid Massucci, Florida, Bobbie Jo Hall, Maine, Michael Sutton, North Carolina, Douglas Sutton, Utica, Bonnie Sutton, Utica, Donna Marie Massucci, New Hampshire, Rick Massucci, Florida; a sister-in-law, Lori Lewis, Utica, and a brother-in-law, Andrew Graziano, Canastota; as well as by many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are many close friends, including : Sid and the Washington family, Utica, Jill Harvey, Utica, Bill and Bev Kehoe, Frankfort, Don and Missy Hurd, Utica, Elton Bowers, Boonville, and Rich Farber, Deerfield. Besides his parents, Don is predeceased by a daughter, Larissa Sutton, and two sisters, Toni Sutton Rios and Judy Massucci Pollard. Mr. Sutton's funeral service will be held Monday, September 29, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5 - 7 pm prior to the service. Those wishing may offer donations to the Sutton family to assist with their expenses. Don's family extends their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the medical staff at Slocum-Dickson, including Dr. Razia, Vanny, Jessica, and the Lab Tech, Luanne. Also to the nurses and staff of Hospice Care, Inc. for their care and compassion. Finally, a special thank you to everyone who was there for him during this difficult time.
