Obituary of Stephen John Reschetnikow

Stephen J. Reschetnikow, 24, of Basalt, Colorado, formerly of East South Street, Clark Mills, passed away Friday morning, September 12, 2008 in Centennial, Colorado, as the result of a motorcycle accident. Stephen was born in Clark Mills, December 12, 1983, the son of George and Patricia King Reschetnikow. He was raised and educated in Clark Mills and Westmoreland, and was a graduate of Westmoreland High Schools Class of 2002. Steve later graduated from SUNY Delhi. Stephen was a self employed irrigation specialist and was also a groomer at Ajax Mountain ski area in Aspen, Colorado. He was a member of the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills. Stephen was also a former member of the Clark Mills Boys Scout Troop 44 where he received his Eagle Scout recognition. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 26 Clark Mills, the VFW Post 9591 Men's Auxiliary in Clinton, and the United States Golf Course Superintendents Association. Besides his parents, George and Pat, Steve is survived by his paternal grandmother, Vera Reschetnikow, Bricktown, New Jersey; one sister, Julia A. Reschetnikow of Clark Mills; one brother and sister-in-law and nephew, Michael (Elizabeth) Reschetnikow and their son, Griffin, of Carlsbad, CA. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral mass of Christian burial on Thursday morning, September 25, 2008 at 10 am at the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills. Interment will take place in Kirkland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Those wishing may make a contribution to the Porter Hospice Care, Inc. in Centennial, CO, or the Clark Mills Boy Scout Troop 44, in Stephen's memory. The Oneida County Sons of the American Legion will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm.
