Mr. William Clayton Castle, 82 a resident of the Pines of Utica (Eden Park Nursing Home) formerly of Saratoga St., Utica passed away on Saturday August 2, 2008 at the nursing Home. William was born in Sand Lake, NY on December 23, 1925 the son of Leroy Kendall and Emily (Leavenworth) Castle, Sr. He resided in the Rome/Utica area most of his life and for many years was employed with Monks Pizzaria in Utica. He was a member of Bethany Church in Utica and enjoyed listening to country music and watching the old western movies. Mr. Castle is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and David Gott of Syracuse, NY; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George Castle and Gert Dingman of Pittsfield, MA and E. Richard and Mary Ann Castle of Waterford, NY; three special people in Williams life, Jenny Bush and her daughter Jennifer and Joseph Laurey all of Utica and several nieces, nephews and friends to numerous to mention. He was predeceased by two sisters, Doris Pitts and Jean Van Epps and four brothers, Leroy K. Castle, Jr., Raymond Castle, James Robert Castle and Charles Edmund Castle. Mr. Castle's funeral will be held on Wednesday August 6, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Troy NY on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Calling hours for family and friends are Wednesday 9:30-10:30 prior to the service.
