Helen Ann Macner, 85, a resident of the Masonic Care Community, Utica, formerly of Wilcox Rd., Whitesboro, NY, passed away at the home July 13, 2008. Helen was born May 20, 1923, the daughter of Albert and Catherine Macner. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of the Class of 1941 at UFA. On October 20, 1943, at Holy Trinity Church, Utica, Helen was married to John C. Macner. For a number of years, until her retirement, she was a secretary for Tri-Ad Tractor, Yorkville, NY. Helen is a member of St. Mary's Church, Clinton, and a former charter member of St. Ann's Church, Whitesboro, where she was an active member of the Women's Club. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Progressive League at Twin Ponds Golf Club in New York Mills. Helen is survived by her loving husband, John, of Clinton; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise Macner Christ and her husband, Bud, of Clinton; two sons and daughters-in-law, John C. Macner, Jr., and Anne, of Greensboro, NC, and Thomas C. Macner and Alice, of Huntington Station, NY; six grandchildren, Randy Christ, of Fayetteville, NY, Russ and Emily Christ, of Phoenix, AZ, Ryan and Nicole Christ, of Denver, CO, Colleen Macner, of Boston, MA, Elizabeth Macner and her fiance, Jeremy Etzkore, of Tampa, FL, and Marisa Macner, of Brooklyn, NY; four cherished great-grandchildren, Alex, Charlie, Trevor and Finnegan; two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Macner and Helen Macner; and one brother-in-law, Stanley Bielewicz. Helen was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Bielewicz and Dorothy Kupinski, and two brothers, Stanley and Leo Macner. A memorial service for Mrs. Macner will be held Wednesday, July 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton. Relatives and friends are invited. The family will greet guests prior to Helen's service. Her burial will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Whitestown, NY. The family would like to make a special thank you to the staff of the Placid Neighborhood at the Masonic Care Community for all their care and kindness to Helen during her stay. Her arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, Clinton, NY.
