“Minnie” Frances Boucher, 81, died on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Abraham House in Utica. Minnie was born in Utica, NY, on July 25, 1936, daughter of George L. and Mary A. (Kot) Becker. She was raised and educated in Utica and graduated Valedictorian of Utica Catholic Academy’s Class of 1954. At one time, she was married to Clayton Boucher. She became well known for her excellent cooking from her restaurants, the Hotel Northwood and the Blue Baron Restaurant. Her Polish food stand was also a favorite stop at the Remsen Barn Festival. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne Boucher and Uwe Selzer of Manassas, VA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Clayton “Sam” Boucher of San Antonio, TX and Steven and Lynn Boucher of Remsen, NY; ten grandchildren: Caleb Gaasch, Sarah Gates, Alexandra, Jacqueline, Shelby Rawlings (Cole- husband), Savannah, Stephanie, Clayton “Hank”, Samantha, and Sydney Boucher; Clayton and Sharon Boucher, Remsen; three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Richard Boucher of NY Mills, William and Jean Boucher of Utica, Carol Williams of Floyd, Barbara Boucher of Biloxi, MS, and Robert Jones of Sauquoit. She also leaves several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her son James Boucher, her parents, her sister Elaine Francis, and her brothers-in-law Donald Boucher, Ernest Williams, and Betty Boucher. Minnie Boucher's calling hours will be held at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, Monday, March 5, 2018, from 4-8p.m. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at 11:00 at St. Joseph's-St. Patrick's Church, Utica, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Her burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Whitestown. Donations will be appreciated to the James J. Boucher Memorial Scholarship at the Remsen schools.
