Walburga Ottinger, 72, of Deerfield, passed away at home February 3, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Walburga was born in Megesheim, Germany on September 24, 1935, a daughter of Johann and Eleonore Kriegler. She came to the United States in 1955 and on June 1, 1963 in Sacred Heart Church, Utica, Walburga married Adolph Ottinger. Walburga was once employed with General Electric and later with Bakers Green House for 8 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, North Utica and the Utica Maennerchor. Walburga was a devoted and loving grandmother, who cherished the time she spent with her family. Walburga is survived by her husband, Adolph, three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and John DeMichiel, Whitesboro, Elizabeth and Marc Ferrer, PA., and Lori and Oliver Lau, CA., nine grandchildren Chris, Jessica, Matthew and Lauren DeMichiel, Andrew, Elena and Luke Ferrer and Ethan and Sophia Lau, two sisters, Maria Lechner and Eleonore Mayer,, and two brothers, Hans and Joseph Kriegler, all of Germany. Mrs. Ottinger's funeral will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 10:30 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, North Utica and at 11:00 in St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday morning from 8:30 ? 10:30.
