Obituary of Virginia J. Page

Mrs. Virginia J. Page, 86, of 24 Woodlawn Place, Clinton, passed away Sunday morning, May 4, 2008 after a long illness. She was born in Utica, on November 17, 1921, the daughter of Harold R. and Sophia A. Ryczek Jones. She was raised and educated in Whitesboro and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. Virginia later received her Bachelors degree from Cortland State Teachers College in 1944 and then received her Masters degree in Library Science from Syracuse University in 1965. On June 30, 1944, Virginia married Maurice L. Page in Childress, Texas. Shortly after the marriage, they moved to Clinton where they have since resided. For over seventeen years, Mrs. Page was a teacher librarian for the Clinton Central Schools, retiring in 1982. She was member of St. Mary's Church in Clinton. Virginia was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member and volunteer of numerous charitable organizations in the Clinton and Utica area. Besides her beloved husband, Maurice, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Penney and Andrew Blaszkow, Balston Lake, NY; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Maurice L., Jr., (Rick) and Sharon Page of Rochester, Scott A. and Gail Page of New Hartford, Randy H. and Cynthia Page of Pompey Center, NY; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Stanley Kratzert of Whitesboro; nine grandchildren, Micheal S. and Victoria Page, Shelby Page and Shana Page, all of Rochester, Ellen Q. and Thomas Sandrock of Boulder, CO, Benjamin and Ashley Page of Providence Fordge, VA, James D. and Thomas J. Page, both of Pompey Center and Alison K. and Amy L. Blaszkow, both of Balston Lake. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Page's funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, May 7, 2008 at 9:30 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 E. Park Row, Clinton and at 10:00 at St. Mary's Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, 4-7. Those wishing, may make a contribution to Hospice Care, Inc., or the charity of their choice in Virginia's memory. Her family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Lutheran Home, especially Taylor-Coleman for the excellent care and many kindnesses shown to Virginia and her family.
