Thomas M. Nowak, Jr. Utica Thomas M. Nowak, 59, of Utica, passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 at his home after a long illness. Thomas was born in Utica on March 20, 1947, the son of Thomas M. and Jane (Evans) Nowak. He was raised and educated locally. Thomas went on to college, earning several degrees. He moved to the San Francisco Bay area in the late 1960's, where he lived until 1995, when he returned to the Utica area. Thomas worked as a registered nurse for the Capital District Psychiatric Center, and most recently worked as an addiction's counselor and was a friend of Bill W. Thomas was a member of the Survivor's Motorcycle Club in the San Francisco Bay area. Thomas is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ellen Murray, North Bay; Viola and Leo Harosia, Alaska; a brother, Richard Prosser, Taberg; a special aunt, Mary Bellair, Whitesboro; cousins, Kathy Beaumont, New Hartford, Frank Nowak, Whitesboro; his significant other, Linda Lou Wessman, Lee Center; his best friend, Jim Kotary, Rome. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held for Thomas on Monday, February 12, 2007 at 10:00 am the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whiteboro, St., Utica, with Rev. Joseph Moskal presiding. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Utica. There are no calling hours.
