Steven Kornutiak North Utica Steven Kornutiak, 74, of North Utica, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 at his home with his family by his side. Steven was born August 1, 1932 in Scranton, PA, the son of George and Catherine (Wain) Kornutiak. He was raised and educated in Scranton and went on to serve his country with the US Army. On November 23, 1957, Steven married Teresa Ann Ruddy. Teresa passed away in 1984. On November 15, 1986, Steven married Sharon Gotshall. He was employed with General Electric in Utica until his retirement in 1991. Steven was a member and Secretary for the Utica Maennerchor, as well as the head of their Pitch Club. He especially enjoyed bicycling and riding his motorcycles. Steven is survived by his wife, Sharon, North Utica; by two daughters and a son-in law, Terry Kornutiak and her partner, Cornelius Constantinescu, Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Susan and John Muraca, Deerfield; two sons, Steven Kornutiak, Ilion, David Kornutiak, Rensselear; a stepdaughter, Dawn Muraca, CA; five grandchildren, Steven R., Daniel D., and Julia Kornutiak, Jared and Sydney Muraca; a great grandson, Vincent Grey Kornutiak; one sister, Ann Rowinski, PA; three sisters-in-law, Mary Kornutiak, PA, Irene Kornutiak, PA, and Jane Kornutiak, PA. Steven is predeceased by an infant son, Michael Kornutiak; three brothers, George, Alex, and Charles Kornutiak; and a sister, Helen Kornutiak. A celebration of Steven's life will be held Monday evening, April 9, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., Utica with Rev. Lucian Urbaniak presiding. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro, will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4 ? 7 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Utica Maennerchor in Steven's memory.
