Richard T. Hance, Jr., 53, of Whitesboro, formerly of North Utica, passed away Friday, October 26, 2007 at Buffalo General Hospital after a long illness, with his family by his side. Rick was born in Utica on September 25, 1954, the son of Richard T. and Dolores (Crary) Hance. He was raised and educated locally and a graduate of MVCC. On August 12, 1978, Rick married Barbara Hickey in St. Mark's Church, North Utica. He was the owner and operator of Prime Graphics in Whitesboro, as well as working at Oriska Insurance Company. Rick was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in New Hartford. He was also very active in several organizations, including Robert Esche's "Save of the Day Foundation", and for over 20 years he has been involved with the Whitestown Youth Hockey Organization. Rick was an outdoorsman. He loved golfing, boating, water skiing, downhill snow skiing, and spending time at Rocky Point on Fourth Lake. Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Hance, Whitesboro; his cherished son, Eric Richard Hance, Whitesboro; his parents, Richard and Dolores Hance, North Utica; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and George Arbogast, Stittville; his brother, Paul Hance and his companion, Angela, Clinton; parents-in-law, Jack and Betty Hickey, North Utica; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Linda and Adam Partyka, Whitesboro, Dianne and Mike Mahanna, Clinton; two brothers-in-law, Michael Hickey, Illinois, Paul Hickey and his wife, Joann, New Hartford. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as countless dear friends. Rick's funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Utica. Relatives and friends may call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica, Tuesday evening from 4 ? 7 pm.
