Mr. William R. Riley, 98, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford. William was born on November 21, 1919, the son of Raymond and Jennie Riley and attended St. Francis de Sales school. William was a WW II veteran, having proudly served in the US Navy. On April 15, 1944, William married Evelyn Moran and the couple made their home and raised their family together in Utica. Left to cherish and honor his memory are his son, Richard and daughter-in-Law LouAnn; daughter, Linda and sister, Dee Walters; his grandchildren, Erinn, Meghan, Lauren and Michael as well as several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn, daughter Christine, brother Lornie Riley and sister Eleanor Williams. Mr. Riley’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and 10:00 at Our lady of Lourdes Church in Utica, where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. His Rite of Committal and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Utica.
