Obituary of Ruth E. Bullard
Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ruth Hale Bullard, 93, of Whitesboro, died in the company of her family and the loving care of her Hospice aides. Ruth was born on April 5, 1915, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mae Pascoe Hale, of New York Mills. She was raised and educated in New York Mills and was a graduate of the Utica School of Commerce. On August 21, 1943, at the First Presbyterian Church, Utica, Ruth was married to Earl Bullard. For a number of years, she was employed as a bookkeeper for the Langdon & Hughes Co. and later for WIBX Radio Station. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, its Altar Society, the Eastern Star and the Utica Garden Club. Ruth and Earl enjoyed spending weekends and summers at their camp in Old Forge. She loved music and dance, but above all valued her family. She shared 56 years of marriage until Earl's death in 1999. Ruth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bettie and John Williams, of Whitesboro, NY; her six grandchildren and their spouses, Trevor and Linda Williams, of Long Island, Todd Williams, of Whitesboro, Tarren and Trista Williams, of Weedsport, Thom Williams, of Utica, Tara and Daniel O'Bryan, of Whitesboro, and Tori and Jonathan Henderson, of Whitesboro; her great-grandchildren, Amber Karcher, Kendall Williams, Allison Williams and Reid O'Bryan; her sister, May Hale Barton, of Syracuse; one brother, Harry Hale; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Jack Ketterer, of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Hale, Jr., and several in-laws. Ruth was a loving caregiver to many, including her late husband, Earl. It is fitting that in her time of need she was comforted by her "angels" of Hospice, including Renee, Irene, Nicole, Dawn and Navaz, and Dr. William Ryan. A funeral service for Mrs. Bullard will be held Friday morning, April 11, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, Utica. Relatives and friends are invited. Her burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ruth's memory to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., of New Hartford. Arrangements are by the Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica, NY.
