Mary B. Siedsma Clinton Mary B. Siedsma, 70, a resident of the Clinton Manor Apts., formerly of South Street, Clinton, passed away Monday, February 20, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Mary was born in Utica, NY on November 2, 1936, the daughter of John E. and Julia (Helmuth) Burns. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Clinton High School. On October 16, 1954 Mary married Donald Siedsma in St. Mary's Church, Clinton. Don passed away in 1992. After being married, Mary went to work for a telephone company as an operator. She and Don were foster parents for Catholic Charities, taking in over thirty newborns awaiting adoption. Mary later worked as a receptionist for St. Mary's Church Rectory. Aside from volunteering for Catholic Charities, Mary was an associate of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, a member of the Woman's Club of St. Mary's Church, a member of the Secular Franciscans, and a member of the Perpetual Adoration Society. She was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan as well as a SU Basketball fan. Above all, Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Mary is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Rebecca Siedsma, Syracuse, Amy and Rob Daley, Keene Valley, NY, Donald Meenan, Cold Brook; a son and two daughters-in-law, John and Jodi Siedsma, Clinton, Carol Siedsma, Clermont; eight grandchildren, Sierra, Emma, Justin, Ben, Desiree, Amanda, Ryan, and Michael; a great grandchild, Haillie; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Richard Maxam, Clinton; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Burns, Clinton, Hazel Burns, Sherrill; in-laws, Gerald and Doris Siedsma, Clinton, Carl Christ, Clinton, Theodore and Sandy Siedsma, Clinton, Margaret Rowlands, Marcy, Minnie Neidhart, Oriskany Falls as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides by her husband, Don, Mary is predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Meenan; a son, Joseph Siedsma; two brothers, John and William Burns; and a sister, Anne Burns. Mary's funeral will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church, Clinton, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton on Friday evening, (today) from 4 ? 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, or to Catholic Charities in Mary's memory.
