Mr. Kevin Andrew O'Neill, 56 of Deerfield, NY passed away unexpectedly and peacefully the morning of August 9, 2007. Kevin was born September 11, 1950 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica the son of John M. and Dorothy M. (St. Louis) O'Neill. On September 17, 1977 Kevin married Deborah Schue at St. Mary's Church in West Leyden, NY. Kevin was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was known for his sense of humor, charismatic smile and love for family, friends and the outdoors. For the past several years, he enjoyed traveling to Colorado with a great group of fellow outdoorsmen to hunt and fish. Kevin was a true outdoorsman, for every season there was a designated sport. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends. Kevin belonged to many organizations: Iron Workers local 440, Deerfield Fish and Game Club, National Rifle Association, Deerfield Volunteer Fire Co., Schuyler VFW, American Legion Post 229, and Fraternal Order of the Eagles, among others. He was an extremely hard worker and always saw designated jobs to completion. He helped construct many buildings in the area and placed his name on steel gurters in many such buildings. Mr. O'Neill leaves behind his beloved wife, Deborah; two cherished daughters, Peggy O'Neill and Katie O'Neill; His mother, Dorothy O'Neill, New Hartford; a sister, Susan Roberts, MN; a brother, Mark O'Neill, Washington, DC; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, John M. O'Neill, Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald and Ruth Schue, uncle Richard O'Neill and a precious son, Sean who recently passed. Mr. O'Neill's funeral will be held on Monday August 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Church 440 Keyes Rd., N. Utica where his mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.
