Joan T. Hardy Whitesboro Joan T. Hardy, 74, a resident of the Martin Luther Home, Clinton, formerly of Whitesboro, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the home. Joan was born in Utica on January 25, 1933, the daughter of Leo and Marie (Dadey) Cole. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Whitesboro High School. For many years, Joan worked for General Electric in Utica before going on to work for the Whitesboro School District as a Teachers Aid. She then went on to work for Mele Manufacturing in Utica until her retirement. Joan had several hobbies including bowling, shopping and going to the movies, and loved to "go cruising" around in her car. She was also a volunteer at the Stanley Theater. Joan was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Whitesboro. Joan is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cathy Hardy, Yorkville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Brian Foppes, Verona, Kristie and Mike Carl, Whitesboro; seven beloved grandchildren, Lorraine Lane, Jesse Hardy, Alan Hardy, Shannon Hardy, Joseph Wojcik, Hayley Wojcik, and Jacob Foppes. Also surviving are five cherished great grandchildren as well as special friends, Lucy Owens, Linda Jones, and lifelong friend, Rita Lavoie. Joan's funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 10:00 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro Street, Utica. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home, Monday evening, from 4 ? 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to The Stanley Theater or to The Lutheran Homes in Joan's memory.
