James R. Schuff, 60, of Sylvan Beach passed away unexpectedly Monday March 19, 2007 at home. James was born in Utica on August 18, 1946 a son of the late William and Rosemary (Mooney) Schuff. For 33 years until his retirement in 1999 James was employed with Special Metals. He was of the catholic faith. James is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Mark Peckham Burgmaier, Utica, a son and daughter-in-law, David and Patricia Schuff, Blossvale, a sister and brother-in-law, Judith and David Morelle Smyth, Remsen, two nephews, John Morelle, VA and Michael Morelle, VA, a good friend, Bish, New Hartford and six beloved grandchildren who affectionately called him "Poppy". He is also survived by his feline companion Angel. James was predeceased by a daughter, Judith Rose Schuff in 2004 and a sister Judith Rose Schuff in 1948. Mr. Schuff's funeral will be held on Friday March 23, 2007, at 10:00 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Whitestown. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 5-7.
