Joan F. Novak, 65, of Utica passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the St. Luke's Home. Joan was born in Utica on June 24, 1942 a daughter of Arthur Reppel and the late Florence (Williams) Reppel. At Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica on May 19, 1962 Joan married John M. Novak a blessed union of 45 years until his passing in January of this year. For many years Joan was employed at the Cedar Lake Country Club. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica. Joan is survived by her daughter; Laurie Novak of Utica, her two sons and daughters-in-law; Jeffrey and Wendy Novak and their children; Tyler and Julie of Marcy, and Kevin and Danielle Novak and their children; Grace and Megan of Utica, her father and his wife; Arthur and Lorraine Reppel of Canastota, two sisters and a brother-in-law; Karen and Frank Newman of Ilion, and Christine Cusworth of New York Mills, three brothers and a sister-in-law; Brian Reppel of Oriskany Falls, Roger Reppel of Frankfort and Stephen and Kerry Reppel of Utica. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by a sister-in-law; Eleanor Novak. Mrs. Novak's funeral will be held on Saturday December 1, 2007 at 8:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 9:30 from Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday (Today) from 5-8. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff on Baton North of the St. Luke's Home for the excellent care they gave to Joan.
