James P. Comstock, 81, of Whitesboro passed away Tuesday April 22, 2008 in St. Luke's Hospital. James was born in Utica on October 17, 1926 the son of George and Isabelle (Heffernan) Comstock. He was raised in educated in Utica and served in Army during of World War II. In Utica on June 1, 1984 James married Lena Guzzetti. For many years he owned and operated Peter Pans Pantry in Lairdsville and later until his retirement in 1989 was employed with Mid-State Correctional Facility. James is survived by his wife, Lena, three sons and two daughters-in-law; James D. and JoAnne Comstock, Westmoreland, Gary and Kathy Comstock, Clinton, and Brad Comstock, Durhamville, a sister; June Iannone, Utica, eleven grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by his daughter; Lynda Comstock in 1968, a brother; George Comstock and four sisters; Betty Davison, Helen Storsberg, Janet James and Evelyn Webster. Mr. Comstock's funeral service will be held on Friday April 25, 2008 at 11:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Entombment will be in the Crown Hill Mausoleum. There are no calling hours. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. James O'Malley for all the care and compassion he gave to James.
