Dolores M. Larsen, 80, of the Katherine Luther Home passed away Sunday May 18, 2008 at the home. Dolores was born in Utica on November 24, 1927 a daughter of Kenneth E. and Mildred (Agne) Lorraine, Sr. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and a 1948 graduate of Nursing School. Dolores' was first employed with Visiting Nurses and did private duty nursing then in 1955 moved to California and was employed by Dr. George Brown. In 1965 they moved back to the Utica area and through the years until her retirement in 1987 was employed with St. Elizabeth's Hospital, the Lutheran Home and Dr. Hobart Parkhurst In Utica on September 10, 1949 Dolores married George C. Larsen a blessed union of 51 years until his passing away on August 15, 2000. Dolores will be remembered for her sweet and gentle manner and her beautiful smile. Dolores is survived by her daughter; Diane Larsen, ID, three grandchildren; Brent Whittington, Utica, Jason Tarter, ID and April Johansen, UT, four great grandchildren; Krista, Kelsey, Jacob and Abigail, and a brother and sister-in-law; Kenneth E. and Marge Lorraine, Jr., CA. Dolores was predeceased by her daughter; Linda Larsen in 2004. A funeral service for Mrs. Larsen will be held on Friday May 23, 2008 at 2:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 E. Park Row, Clinton. There are no calling hours. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Those so wishing may make donations to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to the care givers of the Bryant Wing of the Katherine Luther Home for all the loving care they gave to Dolores.
