Douglas A. Jones North Utica Douglas A. "Norton" Jones, 64, of North Utica, passed away Monday, April 14, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Doug was born in Little Falls on November 12, 1942, the son of Frederick and Mary (Greshan) Jones. He was raised and educated in Mohawk, graduating from Mohawk High School and going on to attend MVCC. On September 21, 1963, Doug married Carol Lawrence and resided in North Utica. He worked for Goodrich Corporation in Rome for 25 years until his retirement this year. Doug was involved in several youth organizations. He coached North Utica Pop Warner Football and North Utica Little League Baseball, where he also was Vice President of the league. Doug was also an avid golfer and bowler and he was noted for his artistic abilities. Doug was a parishioner of St. Mark's Church, North Utica. Doug is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol Jones, North Utica; his daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Michael Burch, Syracuse; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Erin Jones, Charlotte, NC; his mother, Mary Jones; five grandchildren, including twins, Eric and Amanda Burch, and Brian, Jr., Allie, and Camie Jones; two sister-in-law and a brother-in-law, Shirley and Dom Moschetto, West Schuyler, Virginia Koski, New Hartford. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by an infant son, Douglas Scott Jones, and by and infant granddaughter, Brianna Jones. Douglas Jones' funeral will be held on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 10:00 am at St. Mark's Church, North Utica where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Little Falls. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, North Utica, on Thursday from 1 - 4 pm. Those wishing may donate to the American Cancer Society in Doug's memory.
