Colleen Theresa Montalbano, 41 of New York Mills passed away Friday November 9, 2007 in St. Luke's Hospital. Colleen was born in Syracuse, NY on October 1, 1966 a daughter of Thomas and Mary Margaret (Kinsella) Carroll. She attended Holland Patent High School, MVCC and Utica College. In Utica on March 12, 2004 Colleen married Nicholas Montalbano. She was employed with Adirondack Sports Medicine of St. Elizabeth's Hospital Colleen was a member of Green Peace, the American Cancer Society, taught gymnastics at Valley Gymnastics and did extensive volunteer work in the Utica area including the Utica Boilermaker. Colleen was of the Catholic faith. Colleen is survived by her husband; Nick, two daughters; Emily Margaret Fletcher, and Darby Elizabeth Carroll Montalbano, a son; Bryan Fletcher all of New York Mills, her parents; Thomas and Mary Margaret Carroll, OR, a sister and brother-in-law; Kristine and Michael Davis, OR, a brother; Timothy Thomas Carroll, GA, her mother-in-law and father-in-law; Phillip and Judith Montalbano, Rome, her grandmother-in-law; Evelyn Sipley, Camden, a nephew; Nicholas Evan Carroll, in-laws; Phillip Jr., Dino, Michael and Jeffrey Montalbano and Maria Mellace and many nieces and nephews in the Montalbano family. Colleen's funeral will be held on Tuesday November 13, 2007 at 10:00 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 11:00 from St. John The Baptist Church, Rome. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to Green Peace in Colleen's memory.
