Carolyn Cooney Partyka, 70, of the Mary Buck Apartments in Whitesboro, and formerly of Deerfield, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2007, with her family by her side at St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford. Carolyn was born on October 12, 1936 in Whitesboro, the daughter of the late Andrew Carl and Geraldine (Bush) Cooney. She graduated from Whitesboro High School Class of 1955. She excelled in her academics and was an overall athlete in softball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and field hockey. On November 10, 1956 she married the late Adam Marshal Partyka and was a devoted wife and mother. Carolyn started working at a young age at New York Telephone Company and took some years off to raise her family. She finished her working career at Divine Brothers. Family and friends who knew our mother Carolyn, "mama Teek", would say she was charismatic, selfless, divine, and a compassionate person. She enjoyed her time at White lake on the beach, Northern League Fast pitch softball games, bingo, a beer now & then, and all our family events. Love and laughter she filled our homes with. Carolyn is survived by her 4 children and their spouses. Cheryl Partyka LaValley and her husband Robert of Marcy, Adam and Linda Partyka of Whitesboro, Joseph and Gayle Partyka of South Trenton, and Carla Partyka Senus and her husband Ken of Hope, RI. She leaves behind her grandchildren; Robin LaValley Irizarry and her husband Mark, Renee LaValley and Dave, Rebecca LaValley and Eric, Justin, Jason, and Julia Senus, Kyle and Alexis Partyka, Christopher Jones and his wife Melissa, Erica, Jason and Lindsay Jones, Nicole Partyka Castor and her husband Schawn, and Heather Partyka. She also leaves her 4 great grandchildren; Gehrig Aubert, Gabriella Argen, Isabella Irizarry, and Brandon Partyka. She leaves behind her brother Edward Cooney and wife Janice of Deerfield, and sisters Jane Cooney Hiller of Clinton, Francis Cooney Hock of Whitesboro, and Rita Cooney LaVoie and her husband John of Holidaysburg, PA. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, brothers Andrew, Gerald, and David Cooney, and sisters, Rosemary Zearfoss, and Kitty Poe. Kathleen Hiller, Nadine Hock, Kelly Moyer, and Carrie Kessler are some of her wonderful nieces that have meant so much to her. Cheryl Ladd, Suzanne Wiggins, and Colleen Kilpeck she treated as one of her four children. Sharon and Ray Senus are two of many who have been caring to our mother and have been touched by her warm heart. The family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Wassel, Dr. Carrillo, St. Luke's Nursing Home, and the staff on the 4th floor at St. Luke's Hospital for all their loving care and compassion shown to our mother. Mrs. Partyka's funeral will be held on Saturday, August 4th at 9 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica are Friday from 3-7. Carolyn She touched all who knew her, So she will never be gone, For our angel Carolyn's in all of us, And will live on and on.
