Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room Whatever we were to each other that we still are Call me by my old familiar name Wear no forced air of solemnertry or sorrow Life means all it ever meant Why should I be out of mind only because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you for an interval somewhere very near Just around the corner All is well While I did not write this poem, it gives me comfort...as I hope it does for those who read it. I miss you everyday ma...just about everything reminds me of you and I feel the pain all over again...I think of your grace and beauty and wit and wish you were still here...I miss "our" Mondays...no one or nothing can ever fill the void left by your absence...but I did learn from you, as I think we all were smart enough to...YOU would always say after a death, "life is for the living"--I need to remember that lesson now more than ever...now that the most important person, guide, teacher, friend has left this earth...but you trained us all for what life has in store ma, you did your job more than well....and I thank you...I will love you forever....your Donnie.....

Dear Mother, You broke my heart the day you went away, a moment of my life is not spent thing of you. Once in awhile I'll call our old phone number [315-735-0567] in hopes that I could still hear your beautiful voice answer and say hell-o. You would say to everyone how lucky you were to have so many children, I just want you to know that the ones who were the luckiest were the ones who got to know and love you. You did so much for me when I was growing up, never did you let me down, you taught us all how to be strong, look them in the eyes, don't let them get to you, roll with the punches was your best line. You had unbelievable strength and endurance, trips Sharon and I took with you, it was sometimes hard for us to keep up with you.On the nite of Dads wake you said to me that Sharon was a keeper, never let her go and be good to her, I promise I will keep your wish because I know how much you loved her.In closing we all know your with Dad and all of the family in heven, you will still look over all of us here on earth, your voice will be in the back of my head telling me to go for it, you can do it, don't ever give up, make me proud, so Mom I'll do all of that and when I shed some tears they will be of happiness because I'll be remembering all of the good times we had together. I love you, rest in peace, till we're together again your loving son Andrew.

Don is a faithful friend of mine and I have been blessed to have him in my life. His dedication and love for his mother has been remarkable and is an inspiration to me. He was determined to have his mom live and die with grace and dignity and he succeeded. My sincere sympathy and prayers are with all of those who are grieving the loss of his mom.

My mother and father Jim & Marge Kirley were good friends of your mother and father when they were young. As a child I remember Sam driving the train through Canajoharie. My mother passed away this year so I can feel your pain. Perhaps they are all together now. My deepest sympathies to the family.
