Esther H. (Grems) Abraham Rome, NY Mrs. Esther H. (Grems) Abraham, 69 of Rome, NY passed away on Saturday April 7, 2007 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Esther was born in Utica on November 4, 1937 the daughter of Thomas G. and Marion (Greenfield) Williams. She was raised in Utica and attended local schools. In 1953 Esther married Michael Grems in Rome, NY. On January 3, 1967 she married Louis Abraham in Waterville, NY. Louis died in 1991. At one time Esther was employed with Beaunit Fibers and later with Oneida County Department of Social Services retiring in 1977. Esther enjoyed fishing and camping and was of the Episcopal faith. Mrs. Abraham is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Wendy Grems, Sr., Frankfort; two daughters and one son-in-law, Esther Marie Case, FL and Bonnie and Edwin Taylor, Rome; a step-son, Louis Abraham, Jr., Utica; 8 grandchildren and their spouses, John R. and Penny Grems, Jr., Michael W. Grems, Joseph Carl and Wendy Bieghley, Wilfredo Cotto, Jr., Heather and Frank Blanchard, Melissa Spaulding, Chee-Rae Styles, and David Case; two brothers, Thomas G. Williams, Rome and James H. Williams, Utica, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Tina Mae Grems in 1960 and a sister Shirley Ann Blanchard. Mrs. Abraham's funeral will be held on Wednesday April 11, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will follow in St. Joseph cemetery, Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9. Mrs. Abraham's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Esther's brother Thomas, for his love and devotion in his care for his sister during her extended illness. Also a special thanks to the nurses and staff of the 5th and 6th floor at St. Luke's Memorial for the care given to Esther.
