Rita M. Pasick Obituary

Rita M. Pasick, 75, of North Utica passed away on Sunday December 3, 2006 at home with her loving family by her side. Rita was born in Utica on November 1, 1931 a daughter of the late Francis and Martha (Slominski) Blachowiak. At Holy Trinity Church, Utica on October 17, 1953 Rita married Richard S. Pasick a blessed union of 53 years. She was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Rita loved to read especially about world history. She was also an avid NY Yankees Fan and rarely missed their games. Rita was known by many as "the Weather Woman" who was the source to go to for any and all weather forecasts. She was an avid Garage Saler who loved going to them with her cohort Mina. The closeness those sisters shared will forever be remembered. Rita was a selfless woman caring only about the needs of her family. Birthdays and holidays were always a much anticipated event at her home. She lived her life for her grandchildren and she cast her "spell" on all of them. Her house was always a safe haven for her children, grandchildren and any of their friends. She was Gram to everyone. Rita's most treasured memories are of and with all of them. Rita is survived by her husband, Richard, a daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and David Sampson, Holland Patent, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Judith Pasick, Utica, Mark Pasick, NC and Matthew and Barbara Pasick, NC, ten grandchildren, Heather, Joseph, Daniel, Crystal, Brienne, David, Sarah and Lisa Pasick, Rachel and Nicholas Sampson, two sisters, Amelia Tine, Yorkville, and Virginia Guillaume, Fl., a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Kathleen Blachowiak, Endicott, NY, a sister-in-law, Elva Blachowiak, TX, and many nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by a daughter, Marie Susan Pasick and a brother, Leonard Blachowiak. Mrs. Pasick's funeral will be held on Wednesday December 6, 2006 at 8:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica and at 9:30 from St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9. Those so wishing may make donations to the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association or St. Jude's Children Hospital. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Atul Butala, Michelle Misiaszek and the unconditional love and care of the staff there. Rita fought a valiant fight and wanted pity from no one. From their efforts she gained strength and hope.
