Robert E. Pudney Obituary

Utica Robert E. "Bob" Pudney, 71, of Utica, passed away Friday, December 15, 2006 at the Heritage Health Care Center, Utica. Bob was born in Ilion on March 16, 1935, the son of Clayton and Ann Pudney. He was raised and educated in Schenectady, NY. Bob served his country with the US Army, 82nd Airborne, during the Korean War. He went on to work for General Electric in Schenectady. Bob was an avid fisherman and golfer. When he could no longer golf due to his health, Bob took up computer chess, sometimes having many games being played a day, with people from all over the world. Bob is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Ken Balch, Scotia, NY and Florida; and his "favorite" aunt, Lillian Pudney, Florida. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including several close cousins, Jack Pudney and his wife, Beth, Schenectady, Don Pudney and his companion, Fay Roselle, Maine, Daryl Pudney and his wife, Georgianna, Kirkville, Marc Pudney and his wife, Diane, and their daughter, Hayley, Utica, Stanley Zalewski and his wife, Sandy, Whitesboro, Ted Zalewski and his wife, Marilyn, Weedsport, and Barbara Carpenter, California. Bob also leaves several close friends, Rita, Don, Lori, Kevin, Tim, and Jeanette. Bob is predeceased by his brother, Jim Pudney. In keeping with Bob's wishes, funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Those wishing may donate to the American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502-5949 in Bob's memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., North Utica.
